Flatpack Assembly FAQs

  • Q1) Which areas do we cover
  • A1) We serve all of Greater London and the surrounding areas including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Kent and Essex.
  • Q2) How do we charge?
  • A2) Our quotations are tailored to the items required as opposed to per hour. All we need is the make and model information to provide you a fixed cost quote so you can budget accordingly.
  • Q3) How much room do we need for assembly?
  • A3) Most flatpack items are built 'face down' on the floor before being lifted up into position. This particularly applies to large items such as wardrobes. In such cases we advise to leave floor space enoguh for the wardrobe lying 'face down' plus a three foot gap around it.
  • Q4) Can we assemble in small spaces?
  • A4) We can build some wardrobe models vertically but this takes longer and has a small surcharge to cover the extra time needed.
  • Q5) Can we assemble items on the same day as delivery?
  • A5) Yes we offer a same day assembly service which is usually available for items delivered before 1pm.
  • Q6) Can we build during a property refubishment?
  • A6) Yes we can but it works best if we have a clean, clear and empty room to minimise the risk of damage to your goods.
  • Q7) Do we use protection for hardwood and laminate flooring?
  • A7) We generally use the cardboard from your packaging as this prevents damage and scratches.
  • Q8) What happens if I'm not happy with the job after completion?
  • A8) Please contact our office straight away outlining your concerns. If our fitters have indeed missed something we will send them back to fix the issue.

TV Installation FAQs

  • Q1) What's included in the price?
  • A1) Unless otherwise stated all Tv installation packages include a warrantied secure wallmounting of your Tv. It also includes a paintable white plastic cable cover to conceal UP TO 4 CABLES OF APPROPRIATE LENGTH from the outer edge of the tv to the nearest wall socket or extension lead (whichever is nearer). Deluxe inside wall cable concealing is available at additonal cost. Apart from wall brackets where specified, NO OTHER PARTS OR ADDITIONAL CABLES ARE INCLUDED. (These can be supplied at additional cost as and when required).
  • Q2) How high should my TV be?
  • A2) Ideally in the absence of any obstructions below the tv (eg high cabinets or fireplace mantle pieces), the centre of the height of your television should be roughly in line with your horizontal eye level when seated on your sofa / dining chair as shown in this diagram ( insert link with tv eye level diagram ). In bedrooms you should postion the tv in such a way that your neck feels comfortable when you lay in bed looking at the tv height centre line. If you have obstructions underneath try and set the height as low as possible without blocking any pictures or objects you may want to place underneath. PLEASE NOTE on average IF YOU WANT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR TV HIGHER THAN 1M ABOVE THE FLOOR THERE IS A 70%+ CHANCE YOU WILL NEED TO USE LONGER POWER CABLES AND HDMI DEVICE CABLES. (You can buy these yourself in most high street electronics stores e.g Currys PC world and Argos. Alternatively we can supply you the required longer cables at additional cost on the day).
  • Q3) How can I tell what sort of wall I have?
  • A3) Here is a helpful video as a guide to identifying the wall surface you have. It is important for you to give a fairly accurate description of your wall so we come prepared with the correct tools and materials to ensure the safest possible tv installation. (insert youtube link showing different uk wall types)
  • Q4) What type of bracket should I use?
  • A4) This will depend mainly on the answer to question 2 above, as well as the size / weight of your television. In general you should only use a 'fixed' or forward 'tilting' bracket when you have a 'dry lining / plasterboard' wall (you can in some cases use a 'swivel' bracket on a plasterboard wall if the wall has been reinforced with wooden studs OR brickwork within 3cm of the plasterboard). If you have a solid brick / masonry wall we can safely install your pretty much any type of moving bracket.
  • Q5) What protection do I have against the TV falling down?
  • A5) All our Tv installations come with a 3 YEAR WARRANTY AGAINST MECHANICAL FAILURE DURING NORMAL USE (this excludes wilful damage and or misuse by children / pets).
  • Q6) Do you take away the old Tv?
  • A6) For a nominal flat fee of GBP25 we can ethically dispose of your old tv whether it is fully functional or not (subject to available space in your engineer's vehicle). Just ask your fitter on the day!
  • Q7) What if I'm moving house and want to take my tv with me to the new address?
  • A7) We now offer a Tv relocation service. We will demount your tv from its current address on or before your moving date. We then remount it at the new address once the removal firm has safely transported it. What could be simpler?
  • Q8) Which areas do you cover?
  • A8) Our service is available to residential and commercial premises in and around the London area (including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Surrey, Kent and Essex). Locations in neighbouring counties outside the M25 motorway will include a GBP20 fixed surcharge per visit).
